We have been researching and experimenting with off the shelf, scaled lighting equipment for about 5 years now and here are our suggestions for different applications. System 1 Rough Pricing: $1000 6- Par 20 (Birdies) - 75 watt MFL 2- Time Square Mini Ellipse -75 watt 6- Four-Way Barn Doors for Birdies 2- Pattern Holders for Mini Ellipses 1-Designer Swatch Gel Book (your favorite brand) 8 - Light Source Micro clamps Lamps for all units (Dont forget a couple of spares) 2- Plugging Strips 1- 25 14 Gauge Cable (May change depending on where your outlets are located.) If you plugged in every unit listed above you would have only 700 watts, so you only need one standard outlet to power the lighting for the entire lab! No dimming Capability (just plug them into the plugging strips)

For gel, I suggest buying the designer size swatch books of color and cutting them up. They seem pricey at first, but it is a quick way to have every color out there available without spending A LOT of money buying a sheet of everything from each company |
