We have been researching and experimenting with off the shelf, scaled lighting equipment for about 5 years now and here are our suggestions for different applications. The prices below are only .estimates

For gel, I suggest buying the designer size swatch books of color and cutting them up. They seem pricey at first, but it is a quick way to have every color out there available without spending A LOT of money buying a sheet of everything from each company
